WordPress 2.5

Posted on 08 April 2008 by Dee

My site was down on and off for a while, as I was trying to upgrade to wordpress 2.5. I totally messed it up during the installation. It calls for deleting the WP- admin file and Wp- Includes and replace the same with the new version. IÂ did something wrong( not sure what though) . I almost thought that my site wont be up and I went back to the forums and read that though the stable version has been released , there were some errors still popping up.

So , My friend Raji of talimpu cleaned up the mess that I created and re installed the older wordpress version. , Then finally when I talked to Dear Naresh , who also helped with the small but important things on this site , he suggested that there is a plugin for automatic upgrade without downloading or uploading any files . Please click here for the plugin

Also I installed a plugin installer which allows me to just type the URL and add plugins that I want. Instead of the downloading and uploading process. Click here for the installer.

Thank you Naresh and Raji for all the help!

what lewsers. flee from godaddy like a citizen of tokyo fleeing godzilla. we use ANhosting. if you get a good server, it works great. if you get a bad server along with people who use a bunch of bandwidth, you are screwed. we had a bad server and kept pestering them until they transferred us to another one. now it’s fine.

a small orange is another good host. avoid dream host and blue host like the plague. they are the same company. another blogger used them and her site was down a lot of the time.
